Mr.Cannito's Woodshop: Tree making


Next door to my autoshop, is the woodshop.  Mr.Cannito, a 40 year vetran teacher, is working to build set pieces for an upcoming school play.  




In the photosabove, Kassem is helping cover the trees with paper to look simalar to bark.  Kassem is a great help, and I know he enjoys learning from Mr. Cannito.


Compair the above photo of Airplane construction to the photo bellow of the trees.  Can you see some simalarities?  As you can see, the tree is constructed simalar to the way an airplane fusalage is made. By assembling cross-section rings, then connected those with long stingers.  Photo: Women workers install fixtures and assemblies to a tail fuselage section of a B-17F 1940's.
